Things to do
As evening settles over Uga Chena Huts, the landscape begins to change. Birds call from the trees, insects become more active, and the sounds of the wilderness take over. The Junior Ranger Programme gives young guests the chance to experience this quieter side of Yala alongside one of our experienced rangers.
The walk is designed to encourage children to notice the things that are easily overlooked. They may pause to watch insects at work, learn how to identify animal tracks, or discover why some birds are more active as the light begins to fade. Rather than focusing on hunting for one particular animal, the experience enables children to understand how every plant and every creature has its part to play in the landscape.
By the time the walk is over, they leave with more than new knowledge. They leave with a new perspective on the wilderness and a deeper appreciation for the extraordinary natural world that surrounds Uga Chena Huts.
