Uncover the Ancient Beauty of Thiriyai Temple, Trincomalee

Perched atop a 212-foot rock, the ruins of the most ancient Buddhist Dagaba in Sri Lanka – the Girihandu Seya – offers you a stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding countryside and the old seaport of the Jaffna Kingdom – Thiriyai.

 

Steeped in folklore, this tranquil dagaba is revered by Buddhists, as it is believed to enshrine a hair from the Lord Buddha himself.
