Explore Scenic Trails on an Unforgettable Nature Walk

Embark on a magical morning walk through Ulagalla’s diverse habitats, as the soft rays of dawn awaken the local flora and fauna and the mist begins to fade. Equip yourself with the binoculars provided and follow close behind our expert naturalists as they share insights and knowledge of traditional plants and their myriad uses, behaviours of animals and how to track them, and the effects of the seasons on the surrounding habitats, giving you a deep understanding of the local ecosystem.

As your journey continues and you accompany the butterflies dancing through the trees and say hello to monitor lizards basking in the early warmth, make sure you’re keeping a watchful eye for glimpses of elusive mammals darting through the undergrowth. Our guides also teach you to identify the distinctive calls of endemic birds such as the melancholy song of the Sri Lankan Sharma or the piercing cry of the Ceylon Junglefowl.
